This summer, the office of Intercultural Affairs put together a series of trips for students who were going to be on campus over the summer. These trips ranged from shuttles to Wegmans and Walmart to weekend trips for concerts at Cornell or trips to the mall. One of the trips includeda trip to Ganondagan for the Native American Music Festival in July! In this photo: Jordann Myers ’12, Daphney Etienne ’12.
“Being on campus for the entire summer can seem a bit overwhelming (especially without a car). Having the IC provide shuttles for trips and weekly grocery runs was extremely helpful. The cultural trips were part of the highlights of my summer. I met new people, traveled to different places, and enjoy entertainment in the Finger Lakes region.” -Chelsea Encababian ’14
“Cornell trips were amazing. Ithaca was a nice gateway from Geneva on Fridays. However, the music didnt seem to be attracting younger population. Next summer, once every 15 days for shopping/dining or concert in Ithaca would be great!” – Subin Nepal ’15
“Being on campus this summer was so hard walking everywhere with the heat. Having the option to use the Wegmans shuttle was so helpful. I thank the IC for providing this service.” -Yuliana Baez ’13
“It has been a pleasure driving students to various different events (concerts, mall, wegmans, walmart, ganondagan, etc) The best part was that I met a lot of people, was able to hear all about the cool things students are doign this summer (research projects, independent studies, internships, etc.) and taking advantage of all these entertainment events. As a recent graduate, this has been a phenomenal way to wrap up my four years at Hobart and William Smith and I thank the Intercultural Affairs House enormously for this!”- Jordann Myers ’12
